Why Netherlands Buyers Choose Us
Built for Netherlands Import and Wholesale Requirements
The Netherlands has phased in some of the EU’s strictest single-use plastics rules: on-site disposable cups and containers have been restricted since 2024, and further reduction targets and enforcement steps continue through 2026. Foodservice and retail buyers need dependable, well-documented alternatives — and a supplier who can explain exactly where fibre-based products stand under these rules.

FAQs
Your Questions, Our Answers
The Dutch SUP measures target plastic and plastic-lined disposable cups and containers, including partially plastic-coated paper items. Bagasse tableware is fibre-based and not classified as plastic, so it falls outside the plastic-specific restrictions — but buyers should still confirm current EN 13432 compostability documentation for the exact SKU being imported, since compostability claims must be backed by valid third-party certification under EU rules.
Food-contact packaging sold in the Netherlands and across the EU must comply with Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004, which requires that materials do not transfer harmful substances to food. Suppliers should provide a Declaration of Compliance confirming the bagasse material is suitable for direct food contact under applicable EU requirements.
Businesses placing packaging on the Dutch market are generally required to report to and pay a waste management contribution to Afvalfonds Verpakkingen (the Dutch packaging waste fund) under national EPR rules. Ecodelicious can supply product and material documentation to support this reporting, but registration itself is the responsibility of the importing/marketing entity in the Netherlands.
Mixed-SKU container loads may be available. The final combination depends on carton dimensions, loading capacity, production availability and the minimum quantity for each item.
Yes. Private-label and bulk orders can include Dutch/English carton labelling and printed packaging on request, which supports retail and foodservice distribution across the Netherlands.
Transit time from Indian origin ports (Mundra or Nhava Sheva) to the Port of Rotterdam is approximately 25 to 35 days by sea freight, depending on the selected route and carrier schedule
